The Community Sector

Community Groups and Organisations of all sizes and types face difficult times in the recession as funding and resources continue to be under pressure.

The West Cork Training Team understand this very well – a large part of our experience has been in the public sector at all levels from small, local groups to local authorities, government bodies and European Union initiatives.

In these difficult times, we can help you to:

·                   Think and plan strategically

·                   Formulate your Vision

·                   Build your capacity

·                   Set realistic targets

·                   Use efficient and effective committee and management skills

·                   Build networks and partnerships

·                   Identify and pursue appropriate funding

·                   Achieve success

Is your organisation:

·                   Just starting up?

·                   Operating, but experiencing difficulties?

·                   Reached a point where it’s time for change, but you don’t know how to achieve it?

We are familiar with all of these scenarios, have dealt with them ourselves, and can help you to plan for the future.

How does it work?

In most cases there is a three stage process that we find most helpful to community and not-for-profit organisations:

Stage 1: Consultation

An initial discussion with you without charge and without obligation. A chance for us to make an initial analysis of your situation and identify ways in which you could progress towards success.

Stage 2: Organisational Health Check

An in-depth analysis of exactly where your organisation is right now, where you need to be and how to get there. We would examine committee structure and operation, management systems, planning, finance, networking and partnerships. This exercise would be carried out for a fee discussed and agreed before the Organisational Health Check takes place.

Stage 3: Customised Programme of Work

The Organisational Health Check enables us to identify key issues and actions for your organisation. From this analysis and following discussion with your representatives we would be able to make a series of proposals for specific training and development activities that would help you to achieve your targets and objectives. A fee-based programme would be discussed and agreed before any further action takes place.

Planning, evaluation, sustainability studies and problem-solving for individual organisations and groups are dealt with on a customised consultancy basis.
